Local Small Business Goes Viral on TikTok, Opens Retail Location in Historic Marathon Village

NASHVILLE [December 14, 2020] Music City Creative owner, Steven Romeo, was testing a new design in their small custom screen-printing shop when they, and employee Jared Sizemore, decided to film the process and put it on the new video-sharing app, TikTok. By the end of the next day, their video amassed more than 100,000 views.

“Our business exploded in such a short period literally overnight. We quickly outgrew our tiny studio.” Romeo stated.

The two received countless comments on TikTok from locals who wanted to shop in-person, but their tiny studio wasn’t large enough to accommodate retail space. Both Romeo and Sizemore started hosting pop-up shops around Nashville weekly to offer their products directly to their fans online.

After hosting a pop-up outside Marathon Village, they realized a permanent home inside the historic building would be the perfect location for their business to grow.

“Our new shop gives our customers the chance to see how we make our products. We went viral on TikTok for showing our screen-printing process, so we wanted to continue that idea in Marathon Village,” said Romeo.

Music City Creative’s new home allows customers to watch the eco-friendly process by walking through the print shop or viewing the process through windows on the retail side.

Music City Creative will broadcast their ribbon cutting on their Facebook page on Friday, December 18th at 3:30 PM CST. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, December 19th from 9 AM to 6 PM CST. Masks are required, and attendance will be limited following COVID guidelines. Special discounts will be available to in-person customers and online shoppers during opening weekend.
